Good Words/Kind Words - We Need them Now more than Ever!

February 26, 2013

Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Most of us have heard the Saying "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all!"
I have learned more this past year about how hard the Winter Season can be on people. I have seen people lose loved ones and deal with bouts of Depression and Satan attack Families in horrible ways.

If there ever was a Time to offer Encouragement to someone around you the time is now!  That's the funny thing about a Kind word is that it can be just that "A Single Kind Word" that can change a persons day for the Better.

I can Honestly say that I don't wake up every morning and say to myself, "I can't wait to make Someone else's day better!"  If most of us were Honest, we would say the Exact Opposite!

A Christian needs to have the Mentality of Wanting to Lift up others, it is one of the Gifts God gave us to Help others See Jesus In us! The Holy Spirit helps us with these Areas of Growth!

Imagine if every Believer in Christ woke up Tomorrow morning and decided that they were going to only Say Good Things and Encourage Everyone around them, what type of a Testimony would that be for the World to see that Christians actually had "Something good to say!"

To often I see Christians that are Down in the Dumps and it's our Job to Lift them up and not just say the thing I hear a lot of us say "I'll pray for you" and then a Week goes by and we see them again and we remember, we forgot to pray!

A Kind Word, A Happy thought, an E-mail from a Friend letting you know you miss them is not something we should ever take for Granted.

The Digital Age we Live in now should make it even Easier to Stay "Connected" but Somehow we are getting Farther Apart.  This is happening in Churches across America, we are losing Touch with the Connection of Kind Words and Fellowship we need as Believers with One Another!

I love to have Meals with friends and family and have special times to get to know others better.  We need to make Excuses to be together, that's why Church attendance, Sunday School, Bible Studies, Youth Events, Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners with others is so Key because there are Good Words in these Settings!

We have all been in this Situation at least once in our Lives:
Where we were either the person Gossiping about someone, or somehow we got Pulled into a Conversation we didn't feel Comfortable about because the Person or Group was Talking Badly about Someone.
A lot us reading this are probably Giggling a little because You have been there and we all know it!

I want to Commit and Challenge  to everyone that if they get put in that Situation, why not ask the Person or Group to go get that One who is being talked about and Involve them in the Conversation?

I Promise you 2 Things if you do this.

1. People will Quit Involving you in those Conversations - YAY FOR YOU!
2. You will be the Topic of their Next Conversation about people judging - Sad But True!  :)

When I was younger we had a D.A.R.E. Officer come to School and tell us to "Just Say No" to Drugs and I'm telling you that we need to do the Same if we aren't going to Say Anything Good at all!

The Tongue is A (WMD) Weapon of Mass Destruction and can Build or Destroy, Encourage or Cripple.

The Reason why I chose to write about this today is because Someone Encouraged me today with Kind Words and I was Lifted up because of it. - Thanks Brother Seth!!! :)

Tomorrow, I challenge anyone who reads this to Share it and Say Something Edifying to a friend that's down or a co-worker going through hard times or even the person in the line at the Grocery Store.

Have you ever seen someone YAWN, and notice the Effect it has on you?  It's kind of Contagious isn't it, for some weird reason it Triggers a Response in our Brain telling us "Oh yeah I need to yawn too".

Kind Words are the Same as this, they are Contagious and others will catch the FEVER! So Tomorrow tell someone something Good and Kind not because I said so but because God Commands it!  :)

Don't be Ashamed of the Gospel!

December 18, 2012

 2 Timothy 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

One thing we should never be Ashamed of is the Fact that we Believe in Jesus, we should not shy away from it or try to Act a Certain way just to fit in to the Worlds Standard of Normal.

God tells The Church that we are supposed to be a Peculiar People and stick out as being Different for all the Righ...

Don't Take the Lord's Name in Vain!

December 4, 2012

Exodus 20:7 -Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

This is the Third of the Ten Commandments!

This third commandment deals with His name ~ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Big Question??? - Why would God command us to be careful how we use His name? Why would He punish people who take His name in vain?

Always Give, anyway you can!

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Giving is something that people do not always agree with, some people give because they have alot and some people that don't have alot give more than those that have an abundance.

We need to understand that Giving as C...

Live Godly, Persecution will Follow!

October 29, 2012

2 Timothy 3:12- Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

As Paul wrote these words to Timothy it was for him to read and be encouraged because Plain and Simple “If you live a Godly Life the World will attack that Lifestyle, especially Satan”!

This is a Choice people get to make with their Life!  You have 2 Choices!

1.      A Godly Life

2.      An Ungodly Life

The Problem is that most People don’t want to make a Choice until it’s too lat...

Deuteronomy 32:2-3
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
Because I will publish the name of the LORD:ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

The past 2 days our church has had the Ministry Bearing Precious Seed at our Church and we were able to Produce 20,000 Scriptures for the Country of Costa Rica and it was a busy and fun few days!

Our Volunteers were more than Double what we had for th...

Your Parents were right, "You are who you hang around with"!!

Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

My mom and dad had a saying when I was younger "You are who you hang around with".  Now that I am a Parent I say the exact same thing to my kids :)

I know that as an Adult I am very thankful for the Christian Friends I have and for the Examples they are in my life.
I have been blessed to have them there for me as a Guide during some of the Difficult times I have gone through and they made me...

Discipleship is the Key to Growth!!

October 1, 2012
1 Corinthians 11:1 - Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

In this Verse Paul is trying to Stoke a Fire within the People at the Churches in Corinth and was not getting a Reaction from the People that was truly needed.

This should be a Lesson that anyone in Leadership at their Local Church should Learn!  Set a Godly Example for others to See, but don't just say to Live Godly, actually do that Yourself for others to see!

The Apostle Paul had a lot of Things he did wrong before h...

Joshua 24:14-15
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve;whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord
